The Hershel “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Foundation

Hershel “Woody” Williams is the last surviving Marine from WWII to wear the Medal of Honor. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions while fighting in the Battle of Iwo Jima.
Woody co-founded the Hershel “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring the fallen and their families, primarily through the placement of a Gold Star Families Memorial Monument in every state.
The Foundation also conducts Gold Star Families Outreach across the country and provides Living Legacy scholarships to eligible Gold Star Children as well as focuses on educating the public about Gold Star Families and the sacrifices they have made for our nation.
